A note about the exercises:
We are going to be responsive and expect kids to be honest and ambitious. If they experience pain, we do not want them to continue whatever exercise caused the pain. We also do not want sprinters to run fatigued. We are trying to get max speed increases initially. If the volume is too low at max speed we may add to the exercise some strength training, but generally the running will be the intense pivotal reason for performing. Distance runners are also working on speed increases with aerobic runs to get their cardio and legs into a pattern of consistent low intensity exercise. Athletes may not perform the exercise listed due to fatigue or illness, or other circumstances and may make the exercise up on another day. The more fully they recover the better we expect their workouts to propel them. Volume will not be the goal, quality will be the goal.
Coach Hluch is using a progression he has developed over years of training throws that is not related to the runner protocol above.
